Oh man, this is rough. I studied with Nick before either of us were at Cisco, and he was unbelievably sharp and hard working. We were both working towards the CCIE R&S and he was 100x faster and smarter than his study buddy (me). He did so much to raise everyone's level of knowledge and make that leap into networking, and while we ended up in different places, it was amazing to see how he just never stopped learning and sharing. We hadn't talked in a couple of years - time does that. I know he enjoyed collaborating with you, Steve. I'm here if you need to chat, my friend. My heart goes out to his family, and I wish them peace. 😢

Whattttt, are you serious. OMG I can’t believe. It’s a big loss to our networking community. What a humble person. I will definitely miss him for long time. I was just watching his NSO video on Puralsight this morning. Learned a lot from him. He recently went through some surgery if I remember it correctly. I will miss him big time.May god bless his soul and give his family lot of patience especially his little daughters. (💔)

I’m shocked. I’m so sorry for his wife and girls. We were very lucky to have known him. He was humble, patient, gracious and his voracious appetite for learning was amazing. I only wish I spent more time with him. I always assumed there’d be more opportunities.I remember many years back at Cisco, a new guy on the Fed team asking to learn about ansible and automation. In a few months he had learned everything I knew and just kept going. A few years later, same story, this time kubernetes. I will always be proud to say I knew him.He achieved more in fewer years than anyone I’ve ever known. Rest in peace, Nick.

Nick was a mentor among mentors. His passion, enthusiasm, and desire to share his knowledge were unparalleled. I was in a study group with Nick many years ago, and on numerous occasions, he went out of his way to lab various technologies with me one-on-one to help explain deeply technical topics — not out of ego, but out of a genuine desire to help. This is a huge loss, and Nick will be deeply missed by many.

What????? I talked to Nick a couple of years ago for a solid hour, and had a long conversation regarding teaching and courses..he was such an incredibly generous individual which was willing to do anything to help someone he barely knew. Man...

Extraordinary achievement. Distinguished Speaker is difficult to achieve. Doing it 5x in just a handful of years is rarified air. Dustin maintains an unwavering focus on what's important, which plays a large part in explaining why he is so effective at everything he does.

Did a little cycling up Mt Charleston with my buddy Quinn S. yesterday morning. 57 degrees at the summit. Yes, you can beat the heat in vegas!
